After spending a year working on Invisible Children, I've been looking for design projects to work on. I've decided to design for some print on demand websites, and am really loving it :)

Here is my latest design: SOUNDWAVE. It was inspired by some audio equipment. Check out the products!

My book received its first review on Amazon.com over a month ago but I didn't realize that until this week. Here's the review:

"5 out of 5 stars
June 24, 2009
By Kenneth J. Herrmann Jr. (East Pembroke, NY USA)
This review is from: Invisible Children (Black And White Version): The Third Generation Of Agent Orange Victims In Vietnam (Paperback) The author provides a powerful clarity through which the silence of these invisible children makes a great noise that should get the attention of the reader. This is a book with a mission. The purpose of exposing those who still suffer from the use of weapons of mass destruction by America over its decades of imperialism in Vietnam is accomplished. This is a book written by the pain of children. From those of us who have been working for decades to improve the lives of such victims in Vietnam, I thank the author for telling this story."

I am so incredibly excited by this positive review from a complete stranger. The purposes of my book were to raise awareness and concern for the Agent Orange children, and to raise funds for the hospital that I volunteered at (a portion of the proceeds from each book will be sent to the Peace Village in Ho Chi Minh City, where they care for many children affected by Agent Orange).

I just tweaked the layout so I have a new background that I designed. I used some free tape textures from Fudge Graphics, some hand drawn scribbles, some Dover images, and a brush from Bittboxx. If you haven't perused those sites before, I strongly recommend that you do--they are fantastic resources for newbie designers!

If you do like my new background, you might want to take a peek at this new journal that I designed:

Radiolaria inspired bracelet from n-e-r-v-o-u-s.com
I saw this bracelet on TheCoolist.com and am in in love. Not only does it look fascinating, it's based on structures found in nature. This particular bracelet is modeled after radiolarians (translation: irregularly shaped one celled organisms with a cool skeleton made out of minerals [Thank you, wikipedia!]).

Big news--the New York Times just ran an article about recent Agent Orange research. I was incredibly excited to see this article, as I just self-published a book about third generation children in Vietnam who are affected by Agent Orange, and hope to raise awareness regarding all of the victims who were exposed to Agent Orange.
