Radiolaria inspired bracelet from n-e-r-v-o-u-s.com
I saw this bracelet on TheCoolist.com and am in in love. Not only does it look fascinating, it's based on structures found in nature. This particular bracelet is modeled after radiolarians (translation: irregularly shaped one celled organisms with a cool skeleton made out of minerals [Thank you, wikipedia!]).

I hopped on over to n-e-r-v-o-u-s.com to check out what other goodies they have, and they have plenty! In addition to their radiolaria inspired bracelets, they also have rings, brooches, earrings, and necklaces inspired by algae, the cell cycle, dendrites, and lamina.

I love incorporating knowledge from other fields into my art, so I absolutely adore these little gems.

Hey Marilyn, just wanted to thank you for mentioning TheCoolist on your post here. I'm happy you enjoyed the Nervous System Bracelet and the rest of the jewelry from n-e-r-v-o-u-s. I appreciate the link love, and enjoyed a quick read of your blog.

(oh, and thanks for the comment on the rice field art today. "incorporating art into something that is generally considered “work”"-- I agree completely!)
